Judith de Jong obtained her PhD in 2025 at the Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam and the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) with the dissertation Minoritized Citizens’ Perspectives on Political Representation, in which she examines how citizens with immigrant backgrounds in the Netherlands, France, and Germany evaluate political representation.

Earlier, she completed the Research Master in Social Science at the UvA, focusing on destigmatization strategies among Dutch Muslims and on the impact of sociolegal barriers on the lives of partners with unequal residence status. She has also worked and studied at McGill University and Washington University in St. Louis.
