Linda Bouws

Linda Bouws studied Theatre Science at the University of Amsterdam. She is active in European cultural life as initiator of events, leader of festivals, projects and institutions, especially in the arts and culture, cultural policy and international cooperation. From 2002-2014 Bouws was the general director of Felix Meritis Foundation, European centre for arts, culture and science (Amsterdam).

Nowadays Bouws is imitator and director of Metropool International Art Projects. The foundation stages artistic and cultural activities around core issues currently affecting Europe's societies, and helps to foster independent thinking, networking and co-production in Europe and abroad. 

She is programme initiator and curator of multi-annual international art projects articles on digital journalistic platform Rozenberg Quarterly, The Magazine, publications, debates and exhibitions. Since 2015 Linda Bouws (curator) is closely involved in the large-multi-year art project entitled On Friendship / (Collateral Damage in which Joseph Sassoon Semah supplements Western art-history with the missing information, the ‘empty page’: the Jewish iconography in European art history.

Linda Bouws sits on various supervisory boards and committees. She is a member of Felix Meritis Connecting Cultures, Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam, European House for Culture, ACES External Advisory Board.
